Several 90’s cartoons were surprisingly progressive for their time but then it’s like after 2001, the focus went to having no “special episodes” and only to mind numbingly entertain kids.

For example: https://twitter.com/Muna_Mire/status/1279802660166737921
-Even though it was reversed at the end of the episode, Johnny Bravo was turned into a women and became a feminist after witnessing the harassment her fellow women went through

- Gargoyles has episodes of youth homelessness, gun violence, Native American reservations, racism
-Powerpuff Girls has episodes both on toxic masculinity and militant feminism
-Recess was full of digs by teachers on capitalism, US History, and politics
-Static Shock tackled racism, homelessness, racism, immigration, and the African diaspora and identity tension
-Disney’s Tarzan regularly focuses on colonization and environmentalism
-Captain Planet was all about environmentalism and the harm of capitalism
