here’s a thread on why you SHOULD sign the Goo Hara petition & why it’s very important to do so | #JusticeForGooHara

For those who don’t know, Goo Hara is a soloist, tv personality, and an ex-member of famous second gen girl group KARA. Sadly, she took her life due to many reason, but this (that i’m about to discuss) being one of the major ones.

TW // abuse, bruises

In 2018, she was dating a man name Choi Jongbum, who abused her and blackmailed her with her sex tape. He accused her of assault when she was defending herself against him. He had a few scratches while Hara was bruised. They went to trial.

In their 1st trial, last August, he received a prison sentence of 1 year & 6 months w/ a 3 year of suspension. However for their recent trial, he pleaded guilty to all charges except the nonconsensual filming (sex tape). His sentence was shorten to 1 year+suspension was removed.

Korea do not take sexual offense cases seriously, the abusers get a light slap on the wrist while the victims suffer even more. Hara has lost her life because of the abuse he caused her and he only gets a year in prison?

Goo Hara’s brother has been fighting strongly on her behalf ever since she left our world. He has worked tiredly for his sister, let’s not let his efforts go to waste.
