the blue whale challenge
disclaimer:
-this thread is an informational thread about the blue whale challenge, or also known as “the suicide challenge” this post mentions self harm and suicide so if you’re triggered easily by these topics i recommend to stop reading as some of the information can be scary
what is the blue whale challenge?

the blue whale challenge is a social media challenge started in 2016 that mainly encourages kids and teenagers to preform “tasks” given by an anonymous curator to complete over the span of 50 days.
these tasks get more and more gruesome as the days go on and eventually ends in committing suicide. the challenge was started by a russian psychologist named philip budekin who is now in prison in st. petersburg. the challenge mostly targeted teens in russia but is spreading.
if you see people sharing posts with hashtags like: #/f57 #/curatorfindme #/i_am_whale, these are signs that a person is in need of assistance and help.
how you can stay safe:

-turn off your location
-change your acc to private
-block and report any account that has the username “jonathan galindo” in it
(i can’t show the pfp but if you search them up you can see what i’m talking about)
-IF they dm you, just block and report their acc, they can’t get your location and info just by you opening a dm, the only way you can be tracked easily is by opening a link
-get a vpn
-if you’re really paranoid, don’t accept dms and leave gcs you don’t feel comfortable in
please note that there are soo many trolls out there and not everyone who says they’re part of the blue whale challenge is! if somebody dms you or responds to you with something like “you’re now participating in the blue whale challenge” remember that the first challenge is to ->
carve f57 on your hand, not a whale, this comes later. i’ll post the schedule on the next slide

note: it’s always good to be extra careful so if anybody dms you with that sort of message, delete it, block them, and report them

i love you all and don’t ever forget that
