Despite the LSAT, GRE, and GMAT all moving to an online format to stop the spread of #COVID19, @AAMCtoday has refused to do the same with the MCAT exam. They claim precautions are being taken, but students refute that. Please watch!

What kind of message does it send to future medical professionals when you tell them that the risk that someone might cheat on a standardized test is more significant than the risk of that same test becoming a superspreader event? To value their own goals over the public good?
It's not about personal risk. It's about a desire to look after our fellow humans. Most of us work in healthcare and aren't averse to being exposed. But, we also know enough to know that this isn't a necessary reason to spread the virus.
Some medical schools and administrators have said that the MCAT is important. It might be. But is it more important than the very real risk of spreading COVID-19? Asymptomatic carriers exist.
Because the risk of students traveling across the country just to take an exam is too great, @StanfordMed has decided to #WaiveTheMCAT this year. We hope other schools will follow suit! No one should have to risk their life, or the life of their family, just to take a test.
If you agree, or even if you know someone who you think would agree, please share our letter generator. Answer 7 ?s, and send an email to a med school you know, love, or have donated to. It takes just a minute, but it could legitimately save a life.
