I wish we could just ignore JK Rowling but every time she says literally anything it endangers vulnerable young people, so I'm sorry gang but here we go again:

Comparing transitioning to conversion therapy is transphobic, homophobic, intellectually bankrupt and dangerous.

Conversion therapy is a (still legal) form of abuse against LGBTQ+ kids which severely damages their mental health and increases their already elevated risk of suicide. To say that expressing and affirming their identity is equivalent to this in any way is its own kind of abuse.

Why the fuck is it deemed so radical or complicated to just say "love and protect trans kids"? Why is this a topic for debate? Is Rowling on some special rich person meth?

I was going to donate my Potter books to a charity shop as I'm in the middle of kondo-ing my flat, but fuck it, I might just burn them.
