Coming up with article ideas is hard.

I have a couple strategies I use to make the process easier.

Today, I will be sharing how I use reddit to come up with article ideas.

If you already follow subreddits related to the niche you write about. This is a great opportunity.
1. Ideas through subreddits

- Do not just mindlessly consume
- Focus on this: WHAT questions are being asked?
- Focus on answers with high upvotes and quality comments/discussion threads

- Consider, how can I provide an answer to this? That can be an article
2. Reddit Keywords

- I previously had no idea reddit had keyword features
- Keyworddit helps you find common keywords on a subreddit
- This will allow you to find great terms/phrases in your niche

Once I find an interesting phrase, I brainstorm all related ideas from that.
3. Crowdsource

- Reddit was made to be a forum, if you do not find content suited to you, draw the content to you yourself.
- Make a post detailing a question in your field, see other responses and see what inspiration strikes you

- Key: DO NOT SELF PROMOTE
4. Self-promotion

- I have stopped to self-promote on reddit (had one post early on when I was starting).
- It is built in the culture that reddit is a sharing and discussion platform, not for self-promotion
- Most prominent subreddits do not allow you to self-promote.
