One of my favourite things in Spanish football this season is that @SDHuesca's captain Jorge Pulido change his captain armband for every of their 21 away matches in Segunda, and with it teach us about Spain.

Here's the story (Thread) 👇
For each of their away trips Huesca are paying tribute to their rivals and where they come from, by using a new captain armband specially designed for the occasion. Highlighting something significant from the city or province that they are visiting.

All explained here 👇
LAS PALMAS

The Canary Island spurge is the subject of the this armband, it is the plant symbol of the island of Gran Canaria.
ALMERÍA

The Tabernas desert is highlighted on this one, located north of AlmerĂa and famous for being the spot were several Western movies have been shot
NUMANCIA

Soria is closely linked to Bécquer and his legend of Monte de las Ánimas, a story that is recreated each year in the city through a festival. The legend tells that a girl lost a blue ribbon and asked her loved one to retrieve it.

The blue ribbon is shown on the armband
EXTREMADURA

This armband is inspired by the famous CanciĂłn del Pirata by Jose de Espronceda who was born in Almendralejo, the town where Extremendura plays.
CADIZ

In this armband they've focused on one of Cadiz famous artforms las Chirigotas de Cadiz. It also serves as a tribute to Manolo Santander (who was famous in this genre and also was part of making Cadiz CF's anthem), he sadly passed away last September
LUGO

For Lugo, they've focused on the Roman Wall that protects the old town of the city, it's the only one in the the world that is complete and was therefore declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2000.
TENERIFE

Drago de Icod de los Vinos, is the oldest and largest living specimen of Dracaena draco, or dragon tree. It is said to be a thousand years old, although the age is disputed. It is one of the symbols of Tenerife, and was declared a national monument in 1917.
FUENLABRADA

This one refers to the history of Fuenlabrada and it's connections to fountains, the name of the city itself coming from the contraction of Fuente Labrada, Spanish for "carved fountain".
ALCORCÓN

The pottery tradition of AlcorcĂłn is reflected here, with three pots just like in the city's coat of arm.
MIRANDÉS

Puente de Carlos III is in focus on this one, the bridge goes over the Ebro river in Miranda de Ebro.
ELCHE

Here they pay tribute to the famous Lady of Elche, a limestone bust that was discovered in 1897.
REAL OVIEDO

Oviedo is a city full of small statues or sculptures, all with their own story. Four of the famous ones can be seen on this captain armband: Culis Monumentalibus, La Regenta, Rufo and La Maternidad
PONFERRADINA

This one highlights the importance of railway in Ponferrada, making the city grow thanks to it's connections for mining and coal transportation. It's been a 100 years since it's construction in 1919.
GIRONA

A tribute to Costa Brava, that got it's name by Ferran AgullĂł a journalist born in Girona. As he referred to the rugged landscape of the Mediterranean coast in an article published in the Catalan newspaper La Veu de Catalunya in September 1908.
RAYO VALLECANO

Not a lot of explanation needed for this one, a red lightning... the symbol of Rayo Vallecano.
MÁLAGA

MĂĄlaga are famous for their anchovies and so people from the city and it's team are nicknamed los 'boquerones'. Highlighted in this captain armband with the skin of anchovies
ALBACETE

A tribute to José Luis Cuerda who was a Spanish film director, screenwriter and producer from Albacete. He sadly passed away in February.
REAL ZARAGOZA

The flag of Aragon, to celebrate that the Derbi Aragonés returned. There is also wind in the flag highlighting that Zaragoza is known for being a extremely windy city.
DEPORTIVO LA CORUÑA

Torre de Hércules in A Coruña is the oldest roman lighthouse still in operation and a symbol for the city.
For their home matches Huesca normally use their normal captain armband but for the home match against Mirandés (the first after the break), they had a special one. Highlighting and paying tribute to the heroes in this covid-19 crisis
After each of these away matches Huesca also give a captain armband to the opposite club as a memory, here Deportivo la Coruña receiving theirs: https://twitter.com/RCDeportivo/status/1279846688916746240?s=20
