So here’s what this #Huskers offense is designed to do. You will recognize all these plays (but perhaps not the execution). Having the pieces (which #Nebraska has not had) makes a big difference. (1 of 5)
Three things here going forward. First, look at the size of the WRs. Second, notice the perimeter and downfield blocking. Finally (best of all IMO), listen carefully on all these upcoming clips to the astute commentary by Kirk Herbstreit (“That’s all about spacing”).
Here’s Herbstreit showing the All22 view and breaking down the previous play. These are openings the #Huskers haven’t seen because FSU has to respect Oregon’s vertical passing game. (3 of 5)
All these formations and plays should look familiar. It’s 2nd and 8. What do you expect here? FSU expecting pass but Scott Frost calls this instead. This is how fear of a dangerous passing attack opens up the run and vise versa. (4 of 5)
Saving maybe my favorite for last.

Does this look familiar?!! Look at the difference big, physical WRs and perimeter blocking makes. Plus tempo. Plus having the right pieces. Listen to Herbstreit’s comments throughout here. (5 of 5)

This is the #Huskers offense by design.
How is this possible? Look at the 40 second clock. The ball has been snapped and at this instant it’s hitting Mariota’s hands. In any case, this is what the #Huskers tempo will be like when the offense is clicking.
