What Shownu went through was very hard (and it's not over) but he still put everyone before himself.

Honestly, it worries me because he should be taking care of himself more, but I understand and respect his wishes, he is treasuring every moment.

While thinking about this, I decided to make a thread of some moments where Shownu showed his love for us, where Shownu took care of the others and where the others were thankful for him since then.

This fandom says that he is a good leader, a lot, but somehow I have the feeling most of the time we are just repeating what others say and not really understanding and appreciating that.

I want to show what I'm talking about, let's begin.

191111, Shownu wrote a letter in the FROM 몬스타엑스 board. He said Monbebes were his strength during promotions. It wasn't a standard message said at the end of ordinary promotions.

Shownu prepared a birthday party for Hyungwon and Changkyun on fancon, even Minhyuk and Kihyun didn't know.

I couldn't stop thinking about the consideration he put into this.

On Weekly Idol, Changkyun told Shownu:

"As the leader... You have sacrificed a lot for the team all this time. I hope you could take care of your own body now."

Even though Shownu hurt his back, he was very active on fancafe before the official statement and even told us to take care of our health.

He also did V LIVE just 4 days later to talk to us and reassure us when he wasn't fully recovered yet.

In this fancam you can see Shownu checking on Kihyun while they were in the back.

Kihyun mentioned that performing Fantasia is very tiring, and he even had a solo moment with intense dancing while singing... I'm glad Shownu is there for him.

I think this happened on 200603 videocall but AOM shared recently.

The most important for him is that AOM (and the rest of us Monbebe) enjoyed and had fun seeing him, and that he helped us through life.

I think this is one of the purest interactions I have ever seen tbh.

All the messages the members shared on Twitter for Shownu's birthday were meaningful and there were certainly some words they said on private, but I selected three messages that I really liked.

How much love does one give to receive such beautiful messages? In my family it's just "happy birthday" and we do love each other.

Kihyun's words were so beautiful I actually started crying. I also shared them on my other social media so even my local friends would see them too.

Even though it was HIS birthday, Shownu posted a dance cover as a thank you gift to Monbebe for our love and support.

It's crazy because I think we didn't even do the bare minimum but he's already so grateful.

In the Clash interview, Shownu showed how important Monbebe are to him again:

“It’s true that there were harsh times for me and our members, and I’ve had some negative thoughts,” admits Shownu, “but we hold out and enjoy our moments thinking about a bright future and our fans.”

Recently, once again, Shownu checked on us when he was having a hard time, on 200704 he posted asking if we ate.

We only knew about his retinal detachment later, and he posted after the surgery too.

This thread was short imo (it might feel long because I talked too much though) but the content here is very important to me.

I think almost everything here made me cry when it was first posted, I'm weak and overemotional like that when Monsta X is involved.

As I said before, Shownu is treasuring every moment, this means he is not taking anything for granted so please don't take him and the others for granted either.
