JK Rowling is now openly advocating for conversion therapy for trans kids.

As a survivor of an extreme form of homebrew conversion therapy, I say *once again* without reservation that she is a danger to children.

It’s not too late for her to apologize and rectify some of this harm.

She could start by spreading trans-affirming messages arising from consensus among pediatric organizations that provide guidance for treating trans kids while studying their outcomes for constant improvement.

We’re watching a spiral down the rabbit hole. She’s likely to soon be QTing women’s organizations who support trans kids and adults and calling them groomers. It’s the natural progression of this specific type of mental rot transphobia can cause. We’ve all seen this movie before.

When trans people are made out to be victims of an insidious gay conversion therapy taking the form of “rushing through transition,” you are gaslighting trans kids and advocating for their conversion therapy by making them believe they’re gay, even tho MANY TRANS PEOPLE ARE GAY.

I mean, just look through her “likes” sometime. You’ll find many interesting things like this.

“...counsel a child accept the body they were born in.”

Before I mute I wanna say the reason the recommended approach by experts is to affirm trans kids in who they are is because it *drastically* lowers rates of self-harm and suicide.

Affirming them has zero to do with whether they’re gay or not. It simply says to them, “I see you.”
