When pressed for evidence, the Hayek fan first resorted to insults, then, when @HercNav130 pressed him, claimed that there was an outbreak in La Grande, Oregon as a result of protests.

It takes next to no research whatsoever, however, to discover that the cause of the vast majority of the 300+ cases has been identified through contact tracing.

Now, I'm certainly not going to argue that mass protests *helped* things with the pandemic. And it may be years (or never) before we have a clear idea about how it spread.

But in this particular case, it's pretty clear that it was mostly that church.

Overall, what we're seeing right now suggests that opening early and the anti-mask idiocy has had a lot more to do with the spike in cases than the protests have.

In other words, the issue is people who want to exercise personal freedom without assuming personal responsibility.
