just a reminder that doctors have confirmed that there is literally no feasible medical reason that you would be unable to wear a mask. yes, it may be uncomfortable, but i can guarantee you covid is definitely more uncomfortable than that. stay safe. protect others. wear a mask.
the cdc does not recommend masks for children under 2, but other than that, you should be able to wear one. if you have a medical condition, they have masks adapted to that. if you have trouble breathing, you're probably wearing it too tight or wearing one that's too flimsy.
if you absolutely do not feel comfortable wearing a mask, that doesn't mean you should go out without protection. wear a face shield. they're not as effective as a mask, but they are better than nothing. they don't make contact with the skin so are ideal for skin conditions.
in addition, because of the distance a face shield is away from your mouth and nose, breathing shouldn't be an issue. so as you can see, there is virtually no excuse for not protecting yourself and others when you are outside your immediate family.
if you choose not to wear a mask or a face shield, it essentially boils down to you not caring about the welfare and safety of other people. that's all there is to it.
i will link a few articles and resources from reputed sources so you can educate yourself about this. you will see that there is no research that backs up not wearing a mask or a face shield. i would say it's your choice on what to do after you read these, but it's really not.
the thing is, if your actions are actively putting other people at risk, they're not valid choices to be making. if wearing a mask protected you and you ONLY, then yeah, people should be free to choose if they wear one or not. but not wearing one affects more than just yourself.
