The failures of Buhari as President does not in anyway invalidate the decision of Nigerians to vote out GEJ in 2015. No amount of revisionism can change this. We can talk about the failures of Buhari while also addressing the ineffectiveness of GEJ that led to his defeat in 2015.
If GEJ was so good, no Propaganda campaign against him would have led to him losing in 2015 as an incumbent

His performance and the many scandals within his Government gave APC a fertile ground for propaganda.

Did APC exaggerate his failings? Yes. Did he fail? Also yes
Chibok happened under GEJ and we know how he completely fumbled it and it exploded Internationally.

Until late 2014, Boko Haram was in control of more than 5 Local Government areas across Yobe, Borno and Adamawa.
And then you talk about the Stella Odua controversy, the private jet loaded with money that was impounded in South Africa.

And there is his tug of war with key figures within the PDP that led to a split in the party and his conflict with lawmakers.
Anyway, GEJ provided a fertile ground for Propaganda that APC exploited. Excellently well.

Buhari turned out to be a complete disaster,in fact a tsunami as someone termed it.

But then GEJ's failures as President was what led to that obviously bad electoral decision in 2015.
I can go into detail about the chains of events that cemented Goodluck's failure at the polls in 2015.But no strength

Was Buhari a failure as a Military Governor in 1983-5? Yes.But Goodluck was so bad that we were ready to give Buhari the benefit of a doubt as a "reformed man."
And of course we have to also give credits to the handlers of Buhari who did an incredible job in rebranding him during the election.

The central theme of this thread is basically that Goodluck was so bad that it was very easy to rebrand Buhari as a Messiah.
But one thing you guys won't do is to rewrite history. Majority of Nigerians wanted GEJ out. His defeat was greeted with jubilation.

You can love GEJ for whatever sentiments that's personal to you, that's on you. But don't go about policing the 2015 decision of most Nigerians
BTW: I voted for Goodluck in 2011. I was one of his biggest fans in my own little cycle back then. I spoke and wrote highly of him.

And I campaigned and voted against him in 2015. In 2019, I also campaigned against the Buhari I supported in 2015.
