sakusa hates doing troublesome things. theres a running joke that sakusa doesnt do shit on court hence the “we love the lack of energy!!! give us nothing!!!”

also note that sakusa doesnt have the tireless love for volleyball...so everything takes effort

this one’s a no brainer. ushijima has always been THE strongest volleyball player in haikyuu. overwhelming power that could quite literally, crush his opponents + his south paw having an edge that makes him EVEN MORE OP

inarizaki : “who needs memories”
also recall “all i need are my muscles” back in atsumu’s pov chapters. the build up of the things he does, the muscle memory of his training, atsumu is the embodiment of someone who relies heavily on “muscle” memory

fukurodani : “give each play your all”
bokuto has grown immensely from his moody hs player years where he’d take for granted lots of balls tossed to him and blaming it on petty things.
but ever since becoming an “ordinary ace” hes proven himself worthy of their banner

kamomedai : “habit is second nature”
i like to think that hoshi’s habit is being “the best”. hes always got that proud, borderline arrogant attitude (that fits well anyways because if u’re that good of a player u SHOULD be proud about it) which is why he never misses. literally

karasuno : fly

look at them. they’re flying. but more importantly, hinata’s flying. hes flying higher than he ever was and also much like crows, hinata‘s perseverance is no joke. we have two karasuno boys in frame but i really think the one who embodied it more is hinata

CAN WE ALSO talk about how this panelling is insane. two karasuno boys featured with their banner. but hinata gets more room in the frame. which kinda really proves that hinata IS the embodiment of fly

makes me wonder if furudate based the characters on their banners or if the banners were based on these chosen characters mmmmm up until the end theres so much to unpack.......
