What phone should you get? 👇
First off, if you're stuck in an ecosystem and can not get yourself out at all (like in my case), get the phone of your respective ecosystem; a samsung galaxy, a huawei or an iPhone.
In this case, lets say you're stuck in the samsung ecosystem. What samsung phone should you get?
Well, if you are in the ecosystem, we cam assume you have enough money to spend on a $500+ phone. If you want to get the phone with the LEAST compromises out of them all, you have 2 choices The s10 series or the note 9. S10 is subjected to get at least 2 more years of software...
...support for those 3 in the back who care and the note 9 is just an overall great phone with lots of different ways to unlock it and an S-Pen. Only S-Pen users understand why it's so important to them.
For huawei, if you want integrated google apps, the P30 pro is your last...
...option, If the huawei app gallery is enough for you, the P40 should do great also. (I dont know much about huawei's line so I can not help with that, but I do know they have a great ecosystem which is comparable to samsung and apple.)
and now iphones... see, this is tricky...
...if you're stuck in the apple ecosystem, you pretty much have to get an iPhone and that's the only thing I can recommend to you because Airpods and the apple watch work best (//only work, in the case of the apple watch) with an iphone...
...what I can recommend is an iPhone 11 pro if you can find one at a reasonable price, an iPhone XS Max (as they do not have as many issues as the iPhone XS) or an iPhone X. Anything else would be a no go and should not even be sold in 2020.
If you do not care about the price...
...of your iPhone, an iPhone 11 pro (max) is your best bet. Their battery life is *finally* very good, their chip is great and cameras on par with the competition as of now.
Now lets go back to samsung, lets say you dont care about a headphone jack or an iris scanner...
...The note10 plus is a great option, the note10 is a scam in my opinion (note10 user here), but if you want the latest tech with 120hz then you could get an S20 or S20+ (SNAPDRAGON âš  The exynos 990 is known for having issues).
If you have $1,500 to spare to flex on people...
...The Z Flip is also amazing. And then for those who want to be productive and want to spend ~$1,200 on a phone, you can get the galaxy fold. It feels like a finished product and not a beta testing product like those who did not test it pretend it to be. It does NOT feel...
...cheap either.

Okay now that we're done with the ecosystem part, let's say you're not in an ecosystem and you want a new phone because yours is dying.

Let's figure out your price point first. If it's anything under $500 you have no option but to go android...
...otherwise, you still have all option possible.
Let's say your price limit is $200. Judging by this you want a cheap phone that can last at least 2 years which most samsung phones will do. I have a friend with an A10E (that may mention themselves in the replies) that...
...likes it so far (as a temporary phone) and does not feel laggy when doing basic tasks such as social media or texting.
So if your price limit is $200, you could get a Galaxy A50. For $200, there isn't much reliable choices aside from samsung...
...Now, if your price limit is $500, this has become more interesting. For $500, you can get a note9 or an s10 which I've mentioned earlier. But for $500 you can also get an iPhone X or even an XS Max depending on your country AND luck.
If you want the latest security patches...
...might as well go with the XS Max or the s10 as they both still have 3 (or more) years of security patches (and most likely 2 of main software for the s10). Otherwise, if you don't care it depends on if you want customization or simplicity and/or if you plan on getting...
...a watch from one of these companies. If you plan on getting a watch, you can go back to the top with the ecosystem message. If you don't, hi.
If you like customization you have 2 options. The S10 or the iPhone X (yes, surprisingly im including this iphone. Why? because...
...as you know, there is a jailbreak called Checkra1n which works on every software update on the iPhone X). But if you want the most customization possible, The s10 is the only choice.
Now lets say you don't want customization. If you find both the X and XS max at your...
...price range, get the XS Max, no doubt. Otherwise, if you want simplicity and like to be in a walled garden (some do and I wont judge them), pick the iPhone X/XS Max. If you want a compact phone, pick the XS max. But if you want the best of the best for $500, the s10 it is...
Now, let's say you can spend up to $800. This opens up to other companies, better samsung phones and a used iphone 11 pro depending on your country once again. If you want that simplicity and 3d face unlock (which some prefer to the fingerprint scanner) and...
...can spend the full $800 you got 2 options. The Pixel 4XL and the iPhone 11 Pro. This all comes down to battery, sadly, the Pixel 4XL has an AWFUL battery life from what we've seen in tweets. the iPhone 11 pro is probably your best bet at this point...
...Now if you don't care about 3D face unlock and/or want a 3D fingerprint scanner you have a couple of options. Full Galaxy s10 series, Galaxy s20/s20+ or Galaxy Note10+. Even if you find a galaxy s20 ultra at that price, which wouldnt surprise me, I'd say stay away from it...
...The note 10+ is great if you want a stylus. The S20/S20+ are great if you want 120hz and the s10 series is great if you don't want compromises.
But at $800, you can also find oneplus phones, personally I do not like them and think they are overhyped, but you could be...
...someone that likes oneplus and if you do, you have more choice for a smartphone, which is better.
At that price you can get a oneplus 8 pro used. The OnePlus 8 pro are for those who want a light operating system and don't care much about customization and features...
...I know some will say but oneplus has customization and more features than an iphone, which i will agree with but the issue with oneplus is that they are way too close to stock. They're missing a LOT of features that for example, oneui has been including for at least 2 years...
...stock android is behind oneui whether you like it or not. But if you want the latest BIG software updates to always stay up to date, the oneplus 8 pro gets a check from me.
Now, you might be able to find some huawei phones but I'd personally stay away from them if you're not..
...in their ecosystem. Now let's get to the big spenders. Those who do not have a limit. and honestly it all depends on what you want.
If you want the latest tech, wait for the galaxy fold 2 like i am doing.
If you want a nice glass slab that just works...
...get an S20+, wait for the Note 20+ or get an Iphone 11 pro max.
If you want to flex with the latest tech, get a Z Flip or a galaxy fold 2... Possibilities are endless and it's harder to guide you to what you want at this price point as people have different needs...
...if you need/want IOS Apps get the iphone 11 pro max.

Now, notice how I did not bring up privacy or security? Because all of them are similar in terms of security and privacy. All of them have flaws in different areas and it's something we can't control. If you have...
...a smartphone, your privacy is void.
Now for the best security... Get a Samsung phone or an Iphone. Sadly, no other options exist. but honestly all are good enough for that type of stuff.
However.. huawei... That's the reason why I'd stay away from them unless you're...
...stuck in their ecosystem
