*Dentists are not Doctors*
Here are some points which I would like everyone to think about.
1.Core Subjects learnt in MBBS are Anatomy,Physio,Biochem,Pathology,Phar-macology,Medicine,Surgery.Even BDS needs to learn them during first 3yrs out of 5yrs.

2.MBBS can prescribe DOC for health issue. Pharmacology which is the basis of Dental Academic,so even BDS can prescribe drugs, too based on needs of patients.

3.MBBS can inject medicines perfectly. Sorry,your info is insufficient,Nerve Blocks are also used in dentistry.

4.Only MBBS can perform surgery. Correct me if I am wrong but I guess Dental Implant surgery, Impaction,Cleft Repair,Gingival Flap surgery are carried by MBBS too?

5.Only MBBS can work in hospitals& treat patients.But Dentist arealso part of facial surgery,cleft surgery etc.

6.MBBS have one long year posting of treatment of patients.Even BDS has this too

7.Abbreviation of MBBS in english means 'Bachelor of Medicine,Bachelor of Surgery'. BDS stands for 'Bachelor of Dental Surgery'. Must be a silly joke? A dentist must be a surgeon too.

8.MBBS has specialization in various subjects like Orthopaedics,Surgery,Radiology,Medicine,Gynaecology etc. Even BDS has specialization like Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Endodontics, Pedodontics, Orthodontics, Prosthodontics,Public Health Dentistry.

I really expected for once,I would find some reason to not call myself a 'Dr' but I realized beside being a dentist and a doctor,I am a surgeon too!!
