sicheng has always been reserved, but in every video by ten and kun predominantly, but all the wayv members too, he’s gently encouraged but not pushed to be more open and talkative and it is undeniable that he is. every video that passes you can see he grows more comfortable

as his smile grows bigger and his laugh louder.

kun has always been deemed expendable, he was used in without you in 2016, never seen again until he officially debuted two years later as a backup dancer who’s main role was to get stood on in black on black until in 2019 he was

announced the official leader of wayv, and instantly we saw a different side of kun, a loud and playful but strong and courageous side, paling in comparison to kun who in nct 2018 was painfully nervous, and he has become in wayv one of the most admirable leader i’ve ever seen.

ten never fails to call wayv his babies, and despite the language barrier still hindering conversation slightly in every interview they sit in the same position, with hendery and yangyang, the two english speakers by his side to help him every step of the way. ten despite

having to learn a new language has never showed discomfort around wayv instead he acts as though they are his family, and the love in his voice whenever he talks about them is proof enough.

lucas mentions wayv in near every sentence he speaks in the most endearing way he can

muster, he just seems so proud. from accidentally introducing himself as wayv’s lucas in situations with superm to saying there’s a real bromance between him and hendery you can tell he enjoys every second he spends with wayv and despite the fact you never see lucas without a

smile, the smile he showed even when being trapped in an elevator with wayv seemed so genuine and as though he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

hendery, xiaojun and yangyang are slightly harder to compare as we did not see them extensively before their debut in wayv,

nonetheless, instantly after wayv debuted they were already dancing around in foolish videos, as though they had known these people for their entire lives. they seemed instantly comfortable, never experiencing that just after debut awkwardness, they have never showed even a speck

of unhappiness.

this threads purpose is to show everyone that wayv and happy as wayv. and even though i would very much like an ot21 comeback too, and even though i would love nct 2020, before any of that, wayv are happy as they are. so often i see wayv being reduced to solely

an addition to a large group and not recognised as actual artists and people, if that was not the case kun would not have had to uncomfortably plea everyone to stop asking about it in a place used to spread love and interact with fans. more than anything, wayv are content, and

the unwavering insistencey that they have to be more than what they already are when they are undeniably happy as they are is doing more damage than good. if you cannot support wayv as just wayv if one day they are announced as not nct please don’t support wayv at all, leave.

don’t undermine everything wayv is, they make their own music, they have their own channels, and more than anything they are their own people just like nct 127 and and nct dream. they are not tools for your ot21 narrative, they should not be reduced to ‘i miss luwoo i

they are wayv, they just came back for the third time with awaken the world, their first full album, and just from a fan’s perspective i can tell that they are so happy, so please just let them be.
