COMPASSION IN LEADERSHIP: A Musical Analogy

Bear with me, if you would like, it's just something that's been on my mind.

There will be music!

Comments and Criticism welcomed

Enjoy, or don't. But maybe it works for you.
I really like the song "If The World Was Ending" by JP Saxe and Julia Michaels.

It's a simple song. A song that, IMO, would be ruined if one tried to place into a different genre.

Just imagine that song as, let's say, big brass. It just wouldn't work.

IMO, It's because this song is rooted in compassion. It requires a level of connection and genuine passion to pull it off. It requires an area within yourself to be open to feeling emotion to perform it.
You cannot fake a performance of this song. It would come off as flat and disingenuous. It would ruin the song.

I would also classify "Say Something" by A Great Big World in this as well

See I told you there would be music.

Still with me? Guess where I'm going?

It might be obvious but I'm gonna go there anyways because it's my thread.
Leadership, ESPECIALLY elected leadership, needs to rooted in compassion.

It needs to have passion for leading and compassion for those who elected you to lead.

Without these it easily comes off as faked, forced and insincere.
We see this everyday in the constant gaslighting, deflection and misinformation campaigns from all sources.

This is the clearest samples of forced leadership. It rings as hollow. And it ruins the discord and conversation.
Also consider the brass band as well.

If you were to add large brass sections to either of these songs it would take away from the honesty within them.

And yet we see this everyday frnour leadership
There is constant policies and changes being thrown at us for discussion. A lot of them will never see the light of day (seperation, CPP IMO) But it's there to distract us. It's there to confuse things.

It ruins the compassion for the people who it's meant to help.
A leader should genuinely want to compassionately work for those around them. They should always strive to better the team or the citizens or the workforce or whatever. It should hurt when they can't.

It takes a huge level of passion to lead and it should be a driving force.
We need to strive to find these people within our society and lift them up.

We will only ever follow the same patterns if we continue to allow those elected to produce the same soulless decisions time and time again.

Compassion is the key. Who has that?
Thank you for following along.

Please suggest other songs that perhaps fit this idea.

Please disagree with me if you would like.

This has been inspired by the great people out there wanting better from our leaders.
