To create a movement to ignore our historic and on-going oppression is sad.If you really cared about all Ethiopian lives, you would’ve been vocal about Oromo lives during Menelik's conquest, during Menelik’s slave trade, during the massacre and disappearance of millions of Oromos
You would’ve been vocal about the psychological and physical torture of the Oromos at Anoole, where Oromo women had their breasts cut off and Oromo men had their arms cut off. You would’ve been vocal about the forceful subjugation Oromos were held in.
If you really cared about all Ethiopian lives, you would’ve been vocal about Haile Selassie's horrific reign, when the Oromo language was banned and those who spoke their native tongue were imprisoned. You would’ve been vocal about the inferior positions Oromos were given.
You would’ve been vocal about Oromos making less than 10% of university student populations while Oromos made up 86% of the prison population. If you cared, you would’ve been vocal about the continuous persecution and exploitation under the derg regime.
If Ethiopian lives mattered so much, you would’ve been vocal about the TPLF regime when Oromos were still alienated and were denied political autonomy. If you cared, you would’ve been vocal about the expansion of Addis Ababa, leaving many Oromos homeless and displaced.
But if you really cared, you would be vocal about all these injustices,
including Haacaluu’s murder, the failures of the corrupt prime minister, Abiy Ahmed and his unjust regime. You don’t even have to be Oromo to care bruh #OromoProtests
