[Thead with the lovely @enchanted_octo] A day before Hank's and his wedding, Connor feels on edge. It's been a day that he's been planning for months now and Connor wants everything to be perfect. His mother's insistence on helping has been stressing him out beyond belief.
Connor wants to marry Hank more than anything in the world, but suddenly simple choices like which plates to use for the dinner, don't seem so simple anymore. He tries his best to make everything perfect by his own and his mother's standards, who is paying for the entire wedding.
It's ridiculous, but the moment their band calls to cancel on them last minute, Connor wonders if it's a sign. If perhaps his mother has been right all along and all of this has been a big mistake. He loves Hank, but he can't shake the feeling of doubt that creeps into his mind.
"What are you gonna do now?", he asks, desperate. "Con, as long as I'm marrying you, I don't care if our music comes from a fucking Spotify Playlist." It's sweet, he supposes, but the thought is unacceptable to Connor. He wants that perfect day and suddenly it feels ruined.
"It's not a big deal," Hank says and pulls his arms around him. But it's a big deal for Connor and suddenly it feels like his fiance doesn't even care.
