Thread about what armys and bts are really about:to all my fellow directioners(and other fandoms but mostly directioners since I've been in the position myself)I really really recommend you give Bts a chance. I know that especially because of the fanwars you have many prejudices.
I held back from stanning them for years because of this reason. And let me tell you you don't know what you are missing out on. Being an army doesn't mean you are letting 1d down. You can be fan of both. So many armys are also directioners it's definitely possible.
And to be honest I haven't seen that many directioner vs army fanwars ever since I became an army. I had to actually look it up to find any fanwars. Armys are not that different from directioners we are highly defensive and will call out people who talk shit about our boys.
Just like directioners get defensive when someone talks shit about 1d. One toxic directioner starts shit and armys get defensive and everything escalates. Just like one toxic army starts shit and directioners get defensive and everything escalates.
We all just love our boys and want to protect them. But if you would actually look past the prejudices and ignore the small toxic part that every fandom has you would find out what kind of fandom army really is. You have toxic people in every fandom but they are only a small part~
because those are the one who come to your side of Twitter to cause drama. You will never know about the rest of army who is ten times bigger than that toxic part because they mostly stay in bts and armys part of Twitter.
The toxic fans are those who are noticeable and loud but that doesn't define the entire rest of army. Armys have done more than 100 charity projects all over the world. I'm not going to get more into it because that would take hours but we were also the fandom who ~
matched the million if you heard about that project. I'm going to link the map of armys and bts' charity projects. And when I'm already talking about army charity it's definitely important to mention @/ oneinanarmy who organizes those♡

Whenever someone shows interest in bts or just is respectful to them we always support them and shower them with love. So many people have said that armys actually are a really open, welcoming and positive fandom. Most of us are around 18 to 60 years old.
Most armys have stable jobs like teachers, nurses, lawyers, doctors and so on. For example we have a community of armys on Twitter who teach other armys different languages or other subjects like maths and science @/ Armyacademics.
Now about bts themselves:
I have always thought that they are just some pretty boys who dance and sing. I thought they are just like puppets because of all those horror stories you hear about kpop.
Kpop is bad I'm not going to lie but many things are also a bit over dramatized by media because it just gets more views to them. Also not every company treats their idols in the same way some are worse and some are better than others.
Bighit (Bts' company) is also not perfect but they do treat them relatively well for the most part. They've treated them as people (for example using honorifics even in early years) when in some other companies rookies and trainees get treated like absolute trash.
They also listen to what the boys want. Bts recently renewed their contract for another 7 years and bighit actually encouraged them to have lawyers outside of bighit so they are completely save.
So now that we have established that they definitely are not just puppets that are just being controlled let's move on to their personalities: They are just as charitable as their fans are they always donate in silence but
sometimes the people who receive the donations speak up about it themselves (like black lives matter did about the 1mill donation). They started the #EndViolence and love myself campaign with UNICEF.
Here are a few informations about the campaign, also the love myself campaign video, as well as their speech at the United Nations.

Campaign video:
UNICEF speech:
Bts didn't come out of nowhere like I've seen some directioners think. They worked their ass of for years until they finally gained the respect they deserve in 2017/2018.
I'm again, not going to get too much into it because that would take too long but I'll link some good videos that speak of some of these hardships. In short they got ridiculed since even before their debut because they brought something new to the korean music market.
They get treated badly by other people. Got cut from broadcast constantly. Also because they came from a very small company (near bankruptcy) and in Korea the only groups who seemed to have any chance in making it big were from the big3 companies (SM, YG, JYP).
Many people tried to sabotage them and when they finally also got recognition internationally many media people made fun of them and said racist remarks even until today.

The members love us a lot. They always interact with us on weverse or fancafe or do live streams on vlive. They tell us so many times how much they love us and what we mean to them. They've cried many times because of army.
Seriously there are so many examples on how they love us but I guess it's best to let them speak for themselves on this matter. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6nrbr6
Now to the members individually:
Kim namjoon (RM)
he cares deeply for his members. He is the leader of the group and the members as well as the fans admire him for his ability to hold really deep meaningful and inspiring speeches.
He is the only member who speaks English fluently. And writes many of bts' lyrics. And also helps the other members write theirs if they ask for help. For every album release he does a live stream where he explains how the album was created, what it means and background information.
He holds the members together and is there for them when they need him. He his one of the 3 rappers of the group.
He is also know for being the god of destruction for eh... obvious reasons. Let's just say it's not just the sunglasses he destroyed 😅💜
Kim seokjin (Jin):
He is the oldest member of the group and also often cooks for them. He made a running gag out of the term worldwide handsome and always jokes by introducing himself as that. You might think because of the name that he is arrogant but actually he is not.
He worked really hard to improve his singing and dancing since he in comparison to his other members had no experience in singing or dancing prior to bts. His latest solo song in the Map of the soul: 7 album is called 'Moon' which is dedicated to us fans.
He sings about how he is the moon and we are his earth. One of his signature moves is the hand kiss and also taking out random hearts from all places.
You would think because he is the oldest member, he is the calmest out of all of them. But in reality he is pure lovely chaos especially if you put him and the youngest member jungkook together.
Min yoongi (Suga)
Yoongi is a producer who has also produced/ collaborated with many artists outside bts. He is also part of the rap line and has just like the other rap line members (RM , Jhope) a Solo mixtape.
Yoongi actually just released his second solo mixtape named D-2 not so long ago. His title track daechwita brought a lot new fans into the fandom. His first solo mixtape is called Agust D.
He often comes of as cold and as if he doesn't care but in reality he cares deeply for his members and army he just is not a person who can openly show it easily. He instead shows his love for his members in other ways.
Even if he is usually the calmest out of all the members he does has his crazy sides as well which we can often see in their run bts episodes
There is is also this phenomenon where for every picture of yoongi there is a cat picture. Which is also why we call him lil meow meow.
His lyrics are always really deep and talk about his fears, depression, anxiety and more. Most of this you can see in his 2 solo mixtapes that I already mentioned. This his his solo song in the latest album map of the soul 7 called Interlude: shadow
Jung hoseok (JHope)
He is literally the sun. He always makes his members and armys laugh he has a really bright personality. His catch phrase is I'm your hope, you're my hope, I'm Jhope. (Also many fans call him Hobi)
He is an incredible dancer and always learns the choreographies really fast and then helps the other members learn them. This Is Boy meets evil.
He is part of the rap line however he also has a wonderful singing voice that we sadly don't get to hear as often as we would like to. Despite his bright and happy personality please don't forget that he is also just human and has his sad moments too.
His solo mixtape is called Hopeworld. He also has another solo song which is called chicken noodle soup. It's a remake of the original by webstar and young B. Even though the song seems like it's just a fun song to dance to it has a special meaning to Jhope as well as
Becky G who did the collab with him. He explained that this song was the song that made him start to dance and since we know how much he loves dancing, it's obvious that the song must mean a lot to him (Fun fact: chicken noodle soup is the reason he became my bias wrecker🤣💜)
Park Jimin :
Basically the guy that every single show host (including jimmy fallon and James Corden) falls in love with. He just has that charisma that makes everyone fall for him. He is the cutest little mochi and is part of the vocal line.
He often gets teased about his height by his members (especially by jungkook xD) All members have duality but seriously since he is so freaking cute his duality just slaps extra hard. He is really clumsy and often falls off chairs.
He got adopted by James Corden and his new name is now baby mochi while james' name is Papa mochi. He is also part of the dance line and his contemporary dance is just breathtaking.
Exhibition A:
Exhibition B:
Kim taehyung ( V ):
The V stands for victory and is also one of his signature poses. Also he is the most beautiful man I've ever seen in my life. Like seriously just look at him.
Him and jimin were born in the same year and are really close to each other. They call each other soulmate and even have a subunit friendship song on the new album with a bunch of inside jokes in it like jimins short pinkie
About the short pinky situation: 🤣 all of them always compare their pinkies with jimins
Taehyung is the person who created the I purple you. He is the reason Armys color is purple and all of them and us mostly say borahae ( 보라해) now which means I purple you.
Also he is known for his boxy smile. And really loves photography and fashion.
Also taehyung during DNA era is superior 👌👌💜
And the last member Jeon Jungkook:
He is the youngest out of all of them. He was only 15 (in korean age so probably around 13/14 years internationally) when he got into bighit.
He has said several times that his hyungs (older brothers) practically raised him and that they helped him find himself. He auditioned for superstar k a but didn't get through. However through his audition tape several companies noticed him and invited him to audition for their ~
companies. There was even a company from the big3 included. Like I already said if you were not one of the big3 companies you had bad chances of becoming successful and getting any wins.
Jungkook decided against the bigger companies and joined bighit instead which was like I said a really really small company. He picked bighit because he saw a video of Rm ( kim Namjoon) Rapping and thought he was really cool so he wanted to join the same company.
They ended up in the same band and even until now jungkook keeps talking about how Rm is his biggest inspiration and how Rm is the reason that he is now part of bts.
Jungkook loves his hyungs dearly and they also told how he never shows his emotions but he one time cried so hard because his members felt sad. He is literally their baby
His first solo song was about the love for his hyungs I just talked about.
Furthermore jungkook is called the golden maknae (youngest) because he is literally good in everything he does. Whether in singing, dancing, rapping, athletics, drawing , painting literally just everything.
He also really enjoys editing videos and posts vlogs under the name golden closet films. (And no surprise but he's also a really talented director)
This is his first G.C.F that he filmed when he and jimin went on a trip to Tokyo
JK (jungkook in short) is probably the one who shows his love for us the most. He once said he never cries but when it's about army he easily gets really emotional. He cried several times whenever he wrote a letter to armys.
https://twitter.com/Btsmaykoook/status/1247275109813030916/video/1
He also has the army logo as well as the name army tattooed on his hand. And in his vlives he always talks about how much he loves us.
Because of covid 19 they also had to postpone their tour for which they've been preparing for months and they've said multiple how much they miss us and hard it is for them not being able to see us.
JK wrote a song about army and about how he misses us and posted it on soundcloud with "Thankyouarmy2020" in the link. https://m.soundcloud.com/bangtan/thankyouarmy2020?ref=twitter
this is a video with the lyrics as well
He often posts song covers or his original songs on either soundcloud, twitter or YouTube. This is his latest cover of never not by lauv which he posted here on Twitter Never Not
Or sometimes he just sings a song about how he just ordered grilled pork belly and wants everyone to take a picture of their food...😅
