Someone created a website that randomly picks a fatal police shooting in the Washington Post's database and displays the information about it every time you refresh the page and I think it's a great idea. http://killedbypolice.info/
Most people have a very unrealistic sense of the kind of circumstances in which the police fatally shoot people in the US, because the media focuses on the most sensational cases and is biased in a variety of ways, which is probably inevitable.
This website provides a very easy way to get a better sense of what typically happens before the police fatally shoot someone. It's such a great idea that I'm surprised nobody had thought about it before. I've been hitting refresh for 15 minutes and it's really interesting.
