1/ [CONFESSION] For a very short time I was a fan of this guy.
It was after my dad had passed away in an accident. https://twitter.com/DConquered/status/1279338226071699456?s=20
2/ The behaviour of priests during the 13 day observance made me reject everything religious. And being an introvert I was not comfortable with the idea of talking to people about it.
So I found my solace in YouTube.
3/ I used to search for uplifting talks and it was then when I found a conversation between Prasoon Joshi and Sadguru. It was fresh. No reference to Puranas or gods.
As a knee jerk rebound to the priests I started liking
the way Sadguru handled the issue of grief.
4/ But then I started seeing his pseudo-science stuff. I remember seeing a video where he explains water memory. That was very off-putting for me. And then I saw his opinions on women and that was it.

It took me a a few months to explore the mumbo-jumbo that he excels at.
5/ He constantly puts down people who asks him questions. He derides western culture. He often gets crass in language.
6/ So why then so many people still like him?
Because he fills a vacuum.
Most of spiritual space in Hindu society is filled with gurus that are hard to connect to for an urban middle class populace. Jaggi speaks in their language.
7/ He is what I call McAloo Tikki of Indian Spiritual Industry. Enough desi and enough videshi. He also thrives on "savage roast" culture of social media where he constantly uses wit and stage to put smart questions down. He rarely answers them.
8/ So why am I sharing this?
Because a lot of people like me follow him. Invite him to IITs and IIMs for teaching science and administration.
For them I have just one question.

Will you take military advice from him in Galwan?
Then why medical or scientific or political advice?
