Very good points @CoachCaroline thread ⬇️

It's why so much Twitter 'debate' is spitting in the wind!

I try to follow these rules:

1. Don't argue with zealots & dogmatists. You won't change their minds. It's exhausting, a waste of time & energy. Also: they don't really matter! https://twitter.com/CoachCaroline/status/1279317771583664129
2. The only value in those arguments is shining a light on the madness/ abusiveness of the TREs so as to 'peak trans' more people.

[NB I'm talking about trans rights *extremists*, not moderates]

3. But: we already know about Twitter lunacy & most people steer well clear!
4. We need more people to understand what has happened, what is at issue & why it matters.

5. That is best done by illustration not by writing theoretical screeds that few read & fewer understand, eg stories about:

- schools, shopping/ leisure centres not providing single..
...sex toilets, wards, changing rooms for girls/ women

- girls/ women losing out on sports, awards, scholarships, roles as woman's advocate &c

- niche but I am fixated on Hampstead Ladies Ponds!

- women's refuges in Scotland not being eligible for funding unless their ...
...policies include TWs

- number of male sex offenders becoming TW and being placed in women's prisons (where kids may also be present)

- the Tavistock & risk of harm to kids eg as per Kiera Bell

- the cotton ceiling (& boxer shorts) & erasure of lesbians/ gay/ bi people
- the 100+ genders theory & "embrace discomfort" being taught to children in schools

- safeguarding issues created by erasing children's understanding of biological sex & boundaries

- impact on provision of services & policing if data is skewed by pretending there's an upsurge
... of women committing rape (legally impossible!) & other crimes

- injustice in forcing rape victims to lie & call their rapist a woman/ she/ her

IMO focusing on dangers of predatory men posing as TWs is not necessary & has been overdone. Women & girls are entitled to our...
... hard won sex based rights for a multitude of reasons inc. privacy, dignity, fairness at school, sports, work &c as well as bodily safety.

6. We know that Stonewall, Mermaids et al have captured many public bodies & corporations. To counter that, we have to ensure that ...
... @GEOgovuk @EHRC clarify/ strengthen the law & guidance under the Equality Act so that those bodies can more readily be challenged if they do not adhere to the law/ guidance.

7. Stonewall Law/ Mermaids Guidance has to be exposed & delegitimised. @EHRC is key to this. That...
... even govt & EHRC do not understand the Equality Act & the protected characteristics, is a scandal that must be addressed otherwise the field will be left clear for Stonewall Law.

8. Legislation such as Gender Recognition Act must define & not conflate sex with gender.
9. These objectives have to exit Twitter echo chambers & reach the ears of the people that matter ie the general public, politicians, public bodies, the media & press.

That is happening now thanks to the hard work of GC women campaigning on Twitter and IRL. I want to mention
