Florida is a mess. Its voter-registration system was breached, it won’t commit to telling the public about future breaches, it put cellular modems in precinct scanners (connecting them to the internet), most of its counties destroy ballot images, ... 1/ https://www.pscp.tv/w/cc6y1TFWR1F2cXhscXBERU98MU1ZeE5Wdk9NUFB4d_Q8hlRgdc6tPNHrV9k_zpERr_xwAvo16kC0nICgl2dI?t=12m6s
/ Broward County 2018 Senate Race: Vote by Category Data (early voting v Election Day v Mail) is missing for Nelson (but not Scott) in many precincts. This wld prevent anyone from confirming the legitimacy of reported precinct totals. h/t @LuluFriesdat
/ When Susan Pynchon (Audit USA) requested ballot images for the 2018 election in Florida, a top FL official provided counties with “cover” to instead delete the images (public records) by falsely referring to the scanners’ image-DELETE setting as a “CREATE” no images setting.
/ Contrary to this official’s claim, the images are automatically created when the ballots are scanned, & in fact the scanners count the images, not the paper ballots themselves. Thus, there is no option to not “create” the images. Rather, the only options are save and delete.
/ When @pbuzz3 recently tried to get info to resolve discrepancies btwn precinct poll tapes & reported totals in Broward during the primary, officials claimed they couldn’t access the database. When he publicized what they told him, the vendor (ES&S) said he’d “misunderstood.”
/ But now he’s getting the run around from election officials who apparently had some sort of discussion w/ ES&S in the interim. Hopefully Perry will be able to provide an update soon. None of this is okay. And Florida has a history of election-integrity problems.
