So obviously I give D&D a lot of shit on my twitter. And honestly I& #39;ve been unable to morally justify playing D&D since the Fail Forward article I linked, six years ago. I don& #39;t like the rules but more importantly WOTC has hurt so, so, so many people that need help and support.
Getting kinda serious here for a minute but as players of games it& #39;s our job not to give a platform to WOTC& #39;s abhorrent behavior. No rewriting modules to fix them, no streaming them, no talking about them, all that kind of stuff.
My current favorite game for low-fantasy dungeon crawly murderhobos is Root: the TTRPG. Its default setting is furries fighting against imperialism, but I& #39;m currently playtesting a friend& #39;s hack to port it to other settings, and the results are promising! https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/288366/Root-The-Tabletop-Roleplaying-Game-Quickstart">https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/2...
I recommend doing deep dives on http://itch.io"> http://itch.io and drivethrurpg in general for TTRPGs. There& #39;s way more out there than you& #39;d expect, and you might find you like a type of game you never would have expected to!
Ok, that& #39;s it for this thread, gonna close out by RTing some links so you can support victims of WOTC directly and check out their cool games/streams/etc!
