Hi #Writers!

A few people have DMed me recently to ask how I always get so much engagement on my posts, so I decided to share some helpful tips for boosting yours.

(A thread)
1. This is the most obvious one. Engage! Comment on other people's posts. When you do, this actually helps your own posts show up at the top of their feed.

Also, reply to people who comment on your posts. Don't just "like" their answers, actually talk to them.
2. Don't just talk about yourself. WIP updates & facts about your life are fantastic, but you need balance.

Writers LOVE talking about their stories and characters, so ask questions about them. The more interest you show in their work, the more interest they will show in yours.
3. Only make one post a day.

A lot of people seem to think the more they tweet, the more they will be seen. That's not really true. All that does is push your older tweets down and lessen the likelihood that they will be seen. Give people a chance to comment on that one.
4. This one is also obvious, but try not to be a negative account.

This may sound mean, but if you are complaining all the time about your lack of sales, low engagement, etc. then people will mute you.

Of course, we all have bad days, but try not to only talk about those.
5. Be friendly and don't worry about annoying people!

We are all here for a reason and for most of us, it's to meet other writers. Don't be afraid to comment on people's posts. I promise, they'll be grateful. We all welcome the interactions!
6. Oh! Time zones!

Depending on there you live, try posting at different times of day. See when you get the most engagement & focus most of your tweets then.

For example, if I post at 10pm my time, it will get about half the amount of interaction as something I post earlier.
