I’m gonna make a thread of me slowly rating horror/slasher films

I’ll start off with one of my favorite horror films of all time, Midsommar.

Refreshing. Disturbing. One of the best cinematography I’ve ever seen. The story and characters are *chef’s kiss*— total recommend

“Hereditary.”

Collete’s performance is, *mwuah* Aster is not an orthodox horror-maker & he ate with this new kind of disturbing. It is slow-cooked and unsettling. The soundtrack is also *chef’s kiss*. Total recommend.

Friday the 13th (up to p.4 because that’s as much as I can torture myself)

the first movie is an 80s classic, undoubtedly (7.5/10). but, for christ’s sake, we did not need that many Friday the 13th movies. Let damn Jason alone. repetitive & overrated franchise.

Scream Franchise

we. need. more. scream. movies.

this is my favorite slasher franchise & I even recommend it to those who get easily scared. u really get hooked from the beginning and each movie is worthy (worst one is the 4th one tho)

The Autopsy of Jane Doe

this movie is one of the most underrated horror films. it’s so freaking good and for those who like the supernatural, a few jump scares, and plot substance, this is your movie. the narrative immerses you into terror. final scene was wack tho.

The Witch

like any great horror movie, this modern landmark really haunts u after the credits. im not a big fan because of certain cliche elements (ex. goat), but still, any fan of horror needs to watch it for plethora reasons. da witches look cool as hell tho lol

The Shining

kubrick gave us one of the ultimate 20th century classics and a new kind of horror with this movie. pretty sure everyone can agree w me on this so idk why it’s on this thread

honestly, what are you doing with ur life if u haven’t watched The Shining?
