The least hot take in the world: treating human beings despicably because of a game/movie/etc. is horrendous. Sending death threats is horrendous. Expressing violence and hatred towards an artist because you don’t like the content is HORRENDOUS. It costs $0 not to be an asshole.

I know the internet has blurred the lines for so many, but what you say affects people. No, that’s not being ‘weak’ or ‘not having thick skin’, it’s being human. Being a public figure does not mean you should just suck it up and tolerate abuse. No profession should. BE KIND.

Every public figure you threaten to kill, abuse, or harm is a person. Every one is a human with insecurities and feelings. They’re not a screen for you to demand perfection from or berate when you’re angry. And if you threaten someone’s family or kids? Get the heck offline. Now.

I cannot FATHOM the disconnect that it takes to “”joke”” about ending someone’s life or directly tell them you wish death upon them. Even shallow insults! What is the POINT. We are all hurting in some way. Why contribute to pain? Because you don’t like a game? Horrific.
