hello! there have been a lot of misconceptions going around when it comes to east asian media. i thought i’d make a thread to help debunk one of them, since the mainland east asians in fandom shouldn't have to bear the responsibility of educating us all the time+

i’ve seen friends repeatedly get hurt because of western fandom’s lack of consideration/respect for their culture(s), so i think the least i could do is echo their voices. there's a lot to say so i will use a lot of screencaps, otherwise one thread isn't enough.
