We need more Women in our Police Departments. They cross the Blue Line far more readily & often than Men. We need Community Policing with Police who actually Live & work in the Community they serve. We need to take money from Police Depts & divert it to other resources we (4)

Need instead of Police. Social Workers, Nurses, Trained Therapist who are available 24/7 to answer calls that don’t require Police contact. Police could provide an escort & just stand by the Professionals to ensure safety but nothing more unless requested by the Professionals (5)

Another thing we should require even before a person is eligible to be a Police Officer is a minimum of a Associate Degree with courses in Psychology, Sociology, Human Development & Community Policing. We can no longer allow unprepared untrained people to be Police. (6)

We can’t provide the appropriate training necessary within the Police Departments. They are not equipped to teach the Topics they need. These must be taught by Educated Professors or College Teachers who have degrees in these areas. They’re the experts on teaching what our (7)

Police need. A High School Education doesn’t provide enough information or even the proper information needed to be Police Only when you have been taught about the human condition & disabilities can you know how to deal with others or to resolve issues without using violence 8)

Only when you know the Developmental Stages of people of all ages from Adolescent to Elders can you understand them & the abilities of each. A Teenager doesn’t respond as a Elderly person because their Brains don’t & can’t process & understand things the same. You can’t (9)

Approach every age person in the same way it won’t turn out well, Because of the complexity of information Police need it cannot be provided within the Police Departments. Every Police Department must NOW evaluate every officer for fitness & for the proper personality, (10)

Positive to fulfill their needed years to retirement. We must have a National set of Rules for Policing that every Police Department must meet. There should be a Special Committee made up of Civilians to develop these National Standards. Civilians from multiple Disciplines (14)

The vast majority of Police Departments pay well. Pay maybe less than they feel they deserve at the beginning of their service however with longevity they make a good salary. We have a friend in a small Police Department who’s paid $75k a year base but many Police can work (17)

Overtime as often as they wish if they require additional pay just as many other non-professional Workers do. Make no mistake under the current System very few Police Departments require any education above a High School Diploma but they’re paid more than other positions (18)
