a thread of eve polastri’s potential storylines that i believe the s3 writers were foolish not to explore

imo the worst decision was branching out into side characters’ arcs. in s3, ke has already been established as a heavily character based show, relying mostly on its two leads.the plot tends to follow villanelle and eve, not the other way around. the editing and plot felt hurried.

everyone knows about multiple side characters “stealing” eve’s screentime, INCLUDING carolyn. her purpose up to this point has been to prop up the storyline. however, suzanne has a refusal to commit to carolyn possibly being part of the 12, another bone i have to pick w her.

suzanne’s “twists” are often cancelled out (dasha/niko “dying” then ending up in hospital for the sake of one scene). her reluctance to commit to storylines means she completely dodged eve’s development into a darker character,implying scenes & leaving viewers to connect the dots

1. eve’s reaction to killing raymond.this was eagerly anticipated & foreshadowed by eve almost pushing a man in front of a train earlier in s2. the time jump meant we missed eve dealing with her emotions and repercussions for her actions after 2x08, ESSENTIAL for her development

2. eve’s attitude & feelings towards villanelle. the bus scene (3x03) was fueled by eve’s frustration & anger towards villanelle after being shot, which we hadn’t seen up until that point. agood starting point,but she jumped from THAT to the bridge scene faster than kenny falling

3. eve and dasha. they interacted first in the bowling scene, as 2 characters with conflicting views facing off. i would’ve loved another scene with them. eve later crushed dasha but i think her motivation went further than niko and a proper rivalry would’ve been unexpectedly fun

4. eve lost kenny, a consistent positive presence in her life. it seems odd that bear never thought to check the cctv & i’m disappointed in the conclusion. konstantin was, in my opinion, a predictable and weak choice. i’ll link a thread below on who it should’ve been

5. niko died!!! an opportunity for eve to mourn him, and therefore say goodbye to her “normal” past. but oh wait, he didn’t. sandra’s acting in her final scene of 3x04 was incredible and just a sample of what could’ve happened in 3x05 if niko actually died. (1/2)

3x05- an ep where villanelle and eve’s storylines mirror each other? villanelle’s joy meeting her family contrasting with eve’s loss of her husband. maybe she blames herself for placing him in danger? and then eve letting him, her old life, go while villanelle lets her family go

6. villanelle’s family was explored, so why not eve’s? it‘s been hinted at multiple times for 3 seasons and i’d be interested in learning more about her backstory and how far she’s really come as a character. it’d also be an opportunity for sandra to flex her linguistic skills

7. EVE’S WARDROBE? ITS LUCKY SANDRA CAN PULL OFF A TURTLENECK THAT WELL!! costumes are a huge part of the show and tell a lot about a character. villanelle gifting eve a dress was just the start. eve could’ve switched up her wardrobe after a major life event like idk GETTING SHOT

8. geraldine vs eve??? random but if anyone should beat that her up metaphorically it’s eve. geraldine should’ve been a double agent or some shit bc her storyline was ineffectual. and then eve could interrogate her??? dark eve and a point to geraldine two birds one stone??
