I have also worked in support with Public Health personnel for Pandemic Planning/Response.

The first step is “Assess the Hazard”
How bad is it? What effects does it have? How does it effect you (what modes)? Etc.
I’m unable to work with the data, so I’m stuck evaluating the “experts” and what they say...

Unfortunately, I’m not convinced they even have an accurate assessment - that’s how sorry both CDC + State/Local response has been.
There have been deliberate lies, compromised testing, statistical gymnastics, etc.

Simply Put: There is no basis, or reason for confidence, in the public arena... that they have accurately assessed the hazard.
Does it transfer from asymptomatic people? Is there concerns of contact on surfaces? Etc?

I don’t know if they do, bc they have so much conflicting info that I cannot tell.
CDC says one thing on one day; another thing the next. They suck at making test kits. PPE recommendations don’t align with any of their messaging. Etc. Etc.

That isn’t Trump’s fault - it’s the fault of the “experts” that preach “science” and belittle you for not buying their BullShit!

Before I get into the masks, it’s important to understand some underlying principles if Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
We *never* recommend PPE unless it is to address a hazard; we only recommend a level adequate to mitigate the risk.

In other words, a real professional in this arena will never OVER ‘prescribe’ PPE... and this is particularly true when it comes to Respiratory Protection!
Why? Bc there are always unintended consequences; requiring PPE may fix one risk, but often introduces others!

For instance, wearing a mask has the following consequences:
Reduces visibility - you cannot see as well, increases chances for tripping/falling/etc
Physically taxes your body; it IS tougher to breathe!

So even *IF* CDC/NIH & your State/Local Govt have accurately assessed the hazard (probably not), they need to weigh those additional risks...

Did you know... that before you wear any mask (that offers any real level of protection), your employer is REQUIRED BY LAW to have you take a physical?
An MD is required to sign-off that you are medically QUALIFIED to wear the mask!

Get This: There are people out there scared shitless, bc they have respiratory illness, going into masks... that wouldn’t pass their physical!
