ok so...this is in reference with “ONCE MORE WITH CHUTZPAH,” but it applies to a lot of situations. when a book / show / etc. is called out, it’s good that they “re-think” their decision or whatever, but i keep questioning why they made this decision in the first place?
yes i understand people aren’t perfect, but writing a book that obviously promotes zionism is...far greater than “not being perfect.” these things go through a team of people, and somehow ALL of them okay it for publication.
it shouldn’t be an idea in the first place, and it definitely should have been stopped at some point in the process (again, applies to far too many books). it’s not just the author in these situations, it’s the agent and editor and every single person involved in the process.
furthermore, it is very obvious when an author / team genuinely cares about being called out and wants to do better vs. when it’s a pr tactic to cover their ass. and yes, with “ONCE MORE WITH CHUTZPAH,” it’s very obviously a PR tactic.
and i just can’t get over the fact that this is happening during a fucking annexation of palestine. like...wow jfc.

anyway i’m upset, but most importantly: LISTEN TO PALESTINIANS about not only this, but what is currently happening in palestine.
