do adult actors ever shut up about the fact dear evan hansen is a “bad show”??? i sure wish they would cause i’m getting a little sick of millennials (and gen x) trashing it just cause evan hansen is a bad character

evan being a bad character is part of the show. he’s not perfect, and you can’t excuse his actions at all. every character in that musical is flawed and that’s on purpose. if a fourteen year old can understand it, a fully grown adult should be able to as well.

the show itself is amazing, it’s popular not only because of the music and acting, but also for relatability. teens find characters they can relate to BECAUSE these characters are imperfect. the audience demographic is teens, specifically those who struggle with mental illness

the more they can relate, the more the show will be boosted. this thread is going to do absolutely nothing because the exact same discourse is going to show up later this month, but it’s relevant now!

also don’t subtweet minors on stan twitter just because they disagree with what you have to say, we received the show differently.

correction: evan isn’t just a bad character, he’s a bad person. he’s very well written, but has terrible qualities.

you don’t have the right to bash someone’s comfort media, especially if it’s helped them through certain issues
