Reminder that humans literally cannot live w/o insulin, meaning diabetics w/o this drug will die in a matter of hours/days. So the fact that they’re trying to sue over being forced to price it affordably (SHOULD BE FREE) is the example of corporate greed

I just wanna say that we shouldn’t have to literally pay to live. insurance or not, insulin should be free to all. Diabetes management should fall under protected essential medical coverage where no matter what, you still get your treatment.

thank you for coming to my ted talk
Coming back to add for anybody who doesn’t know;

there are more* than ~4~ different types of diabetes, all with varying insulin needs and with different causes. Regardless of why any one person has it, we all deserve access to the life suistaining drug that treats it
How could I forget to tell you guys the creator of insulin sold the patent to it for ONE WHOLE DOLLAR y’all!! he wanted it to be free and he meant it! He said it with his entire chest and had the biggest of balls, a true legend✨ https://twitter.com/heroboof/status/1279926709794603008
This country isn’t looking for a cure, it would mean losing too much money. But y’all ain’t ready for that conversation rn

They back us into a corner, they know we’ll die without it. The system is set against us and is in favor of the suppliers. We will continue to die bc they choose to make us https://twitter.com/directivexero/status/1279943686898384898
Or better yet, let’s come together as a community and do it ourselves. We’ve got to have enough doctors, scientists and marketing individuals amongst the diabetic community. Let’s make a company by diabetics for diabetics, both as a insulin producer and insurance!! ✨we got this https://twitter.com/ipvkyte/status/1279952141751328768
There’s a reason our organs are autonomous. Being your own ORGAN is a tough & dangerous job. People who brush off this disease and don’t understand it (bc they don’t have it) don’t realize it’s terrifying and exhausting, burn out is real. Overdosing is common. Sad realities here https://twitter.com/babyveganboy1/status/1279982709268504576
Note to diabetics: always talk to your endo if you are struggling to keep up with medication prices. They can help you attain free samples, discuss where to find savings cards, and some drs help by over prescribing to maximize on ins profits! Doesn’t hurt to ask for help✨
