Here is the Straw Hats and their possible Pokémon teams thread that nobody asked for~

In choosing suitable Pokémon, I went for Dex entries, looks and abilities of the Pokémon that corresponded with the members' fighting or personality traits. Sometimes it's just small puns~

I also ignored the Pokémon's base stats, including Legendaries. I solely went on their characteristics and powers when choosing them. If Pokémon had several forms, I picked the one most suitable. I ignored Megas & Gigantamax Pokémon as well.

1.

Luffy's team

Machamp
Snorlax
Infernape
Heracross
Lucario
Arbok

Machamp - It's said to be able to fire quick & powerful punches that can send opponents over the horizon

Snorlax - it eats and sleeps a lot, but can also hit hard. Plus it reminds me if Gear 4th

Infernape - a fire monkey haha 'nuff said. Inspired by Red Hawk

Heracross - Luffy likes Hercules and other beetles. Will also fight you if you interrupt it while eating

Lucario - It's said to be able to read people's auras and communicate with humans

Arbok - tbh I just wanted a reference to Snakeman lol plus it looks really cool

Zoro's team

Zacian - Crowned Sword form
Gallade
Sceptile
Scyther
Slaking
Aegislash

Zacian - doesn't really need any explanations lol I went after its looks

Gallade - Pokémon that has blades for arms. Very quick, resolute and strong

Sceptile - it's the Pokémon who's signature move is Leaf Blade. Also a strong and quick hitter

Scyther - again, literal blades it fights with

Slaking - it slacks off most of the day lol barely moving until absolutely necessary

Aegislash - cool Sword Pokémon

(Yeah I know, with Zoro I mostly went BLADES haha there were so many options to pick from)

Nami's team

Castform
Thundurus - Incarnate Form
Persian
Manectric
Alakazam
Thievul

Castform - it's the Weatherforecast Pokémon, and it adapts according to the weather

Thundurus - always brings thunderstorms with it when it appears

Persian - elegant cat that will fite you if you annoy it

Manectric - it creates thunderclouds when it enters a battle

Alakazam - it is highly intelligent, and will fight opponents by studying their patterns and calculating countermeasures

Thievul - a thief Pokémon :3

Usopp's team

Inteleon
Decidueye
Gardevoir
Carnivine
Zoroark
Hawlucha

Inteleon - is a Sniper Pokémon

Decidueye - Archer Pokémon, so it has similarities with sniping

Gardevoir - it is said to be able to see into the future

Carnivine - inspired by Usopp's plant-based attacks

Zoroark - it fights by using illusions and tricks to fool the opponent

Hawlucha - tbh I thought the design really fitted Sogeking's mask feel. Also according to its Shield entry it will strike a pose before attacking lol

5.

Sanji's team

Alcremie
Tsareena
Hitmonlee
Corviknight
Blaziken
Greninja

Alcremie - made me think of the wedding cake he made for Big Mom (especially the Gigantamax version)

Tsareena - has a variety of kicking attacks

Hitmonlee - fights with its feet

Corviknight - amazing fighter but also has the word knight in it

Blaziken - Fire Fighting Pokémon that will attack with kicks - inspired by Diamble Jambe

Greninja - very fast Pokémon, can disappear in an instant and attack from different directions

Chopper's team

Terrakion
Alolan Ninetales
Blissey
Linoone
Sawsbuck
Slurpuff

Terrakion - will fite u if u hurt its friends, hits like a bulldoze and can crush walls (inspired by Chopper's Monster Form)

Alolan Ninetales - lives in the snowy mountains

Blissey - always helps and heals Pokémon & people in need

Linoone - it's a racoon.... but also really fast and agile

Sawsbuck - a Deer Pokémon, the Spring Form has cherry blossoms

Slurpuff - looks a lot like cotton candy. But also its smell is extraordinary

7.

Robin's team

Xatu
Umbreon
Aerodactyl
Bellossom
Roserade
Absol

Xatu - it is said to be able to see both the past and the future at the same time

Umbreon - I just really liked the dark but elegant vibes :3

Aerodactyl - Prehistoric Pokémon that should not be messed with, has this architectural vibe to it~

Bellossom - it's a Flower Pokémon

Roserade - again, a Flower Pokémon but it hits hard

Absol - it's literally the Disaster Pokémon which will appear when catastrophic events are bound to happen

8.

Franky's team

Blastoise
Rhyperior
Magmortar
Klinklang
Genesect
Silvally

Blastoise - cool, strong turtle with canons on its back

Rhyperior - Drill Pokémon, reminded me of General Franky

Magmortar - it has a flamethrower for its hands, similar to Franky's flamethrower abilities

Klinklang - the gear design gives off a very mechanical vibe

Genesect - humans enhanced it by equipping it with a canon and other weaponry

Silvally - looks like one big weapon. Similar to Genesect it can change types accordingly.

With Franky I mostly went for cyborg designs^^

Brook's team

Froslass
Kricketune
Spiritomb
Weavile
Cofagrigus
Meloetta - Aria Form

Froslass - will freeze the opponents, also loved the combination of Ice & Ghost type

Kricketune - it looks a lot like a violin and is overall based around instruments

Spiritomb - a spirit bound to a rock, similar to how Brook is bound to his skeleton but can leave it as well

Weavile - extremely fast and hard-hitting slasher, again the ice typing as well as dark type

Cofagrigus - tricks grave robbers into thinking it's an actual casket but surpise it's actually alive

Meloetta - it's the Melody Pokémon :3

Jimbei's team

Mantine
Sharpedo
Poliwrath
Whiscash
Lapras
Kingdra

Mantine - a Ray Pokémon, but the design also somewhat reminds me of whale sharks

Sharpedo - Shark Pokémon that's super strong and will definitely fite u

Poliwrath - said to be an incredible swimmer even amongst Water Pokémon, will also decimate bricks with punches

Whiscash - a whale-like Pokémon. It can actually set off seaquakes & predict them (Dex says earthquakes but it lives in the water so...)

Lapras - big and very gentle, will transport travelers safely across the ocean

Kingdra - can set off whirpools by yawning

And there you have it lol~ I was really bored so I completely went full out with this thread^^ it was also a lot of fun. I hope some of you will find it entertaining or sth

Also just my own personal picks lol ofc there's lots of other Pokémon to choose from
