Who else loves plants? A small thread with all my current plants (some in recovery from spider mites)
Golden pothos that’s getting a good watering today! She’s getting so long I’m so happy with with all the new growth comin in all the dang time!!! A very rewarding and low maintenance plant
My big beautiful green philodendron! The leaves on this bad boi are MASSIVE! Big as my hand! The new growth is a bit smaller so I’m thinking he’s due to be fertilized soon! Also very easy to care for, I water once ever 15-17 days
My neon philodendron, or heart leaf philodendron lemon line (there are two varieties of lemon lime philo, the other has longer leaves). More delicate and smaller than her green brother, but she cute! Love how the pop of neon livens up the space!
My small Brasil has been a bit of a struggle. It’s FINALLY pushing out new growth, but it was clear this plant was comprised of several barely rooted cuttings. Some of them didn’t have any roots at all! Brasy is doing much better now (she outside because spider mites)
Here are the two cuttings that fell loose, NOW WITH A HEALTHY ROOT SYSTEM! (Yes they be livin in a creamer cup). U might notice a thicker set of roots: those are from a recently acquired silver satin pothos, that had quite a bit of root rot and is in rehab after being reported)
The scindapsus silvery ann (silver satin pothos) in question. Came in a tiny ceramic dog dogshaped pot with no drainage and covered in moss. I knew this guy already came roted due to a few yellow leaves, but I’d already rescued one pothos from death, so I figured why not again?
The first pothos I saved from root rot hell: marbal queen pothos! It came wet and dying, so I let this guy dry out as much as I could before reporting in well draining, airy soil mix inside terra-cotta, and bam, this bamf is busting out new leaves like no other plant I got!
My ficus variegata tineke came in busted as hell from the Trader Joe’s, and I didn’t even know what it was! $5 tho, and look at all the NEW BEAUTIFUL GROWTH! Learned so much from this guy about plant care, like how this one hates water and being wet! Water once ever 10 days
Bro I got this beautiful burgundy ficus from a big box store for $15, and look LOOK!! A champ, a lovely babe (some mites wanted to get onto it tho, so she in treatment outside. Doing fine tho!)
Speaking of, I have a string of pearls which was struggling because I gave him too much sun. NOW got some cute new pearls comin in! Babie!
One of my current favs is my peperomia Rosso! Latest photo on the left! THEY GROW SO FAST! The undersides of the leaves and the petioles are also a vibrant red burgundy! THE BEST!
This MASSIVE sanseveria (now reclassified as dracaena but more commonly called snakeplant) was $15 at the Walmart, of course I had to get it. I water this thing once every two months, no lie
Pretty sure this is an agleonima Gemini, but there are two others that look basically this same as this so WHO KNOWS! Lovely plant but the leaves are poisonous to ppl and animals! Wash your hands after touching or you WILL get mad itchy and irritated skin!
I got two dracaena, one in this lovely little cachepot that normally lives on my desk, and the other is a jade jewel that is TRUCKIN sitting outside because spider mites
