Coming from a performing arts background to tech, the idea of negotiating was (and still is) very scary to me. We were lucky in theatre to get a free pizza, let alone paid for our work.

But in reality, that& #39;s probably not true. Cuz this was 2017, and their justification for doing this was "we made an offer to someone before, and they had to think about it, and he didn& #39;t take it".

Look, I& #39;m sorry your feelings got hurt, but maybe, I dunno- learn how jobs work??

Moral of the story: if a company says "we don& #39;t negotiate" and puts an expiration of 24 hours on an offer, GTFO. P.S. The interview goes 2 ways. Vet for culture. Them *writing* about their own culture on a careers page doesn& #39;t cut it. Ask questions, speak w/ employees, get a good feel for the people & the environment you& #39;ll be spending time in before saying yes.
