Had the pleasure of shooting this video @Buxton_Museum about the incredible Mary Ann Shadd. She was an anti-slavery activist, journalist, publisher, teacher and lawyer. Oh btw, she accomplished all this as a Black woman in the 1800s. #Respect đź‘‘

She was also one of the first Black women to become a lawyer in the U.S. and the first woman (period) to attend Howard University’s law school, which was all male at the time. She sued the school for sex discrimination and won.
I cannot imagine the sheer volume of eye rolls this incredible woman had to suppress in her lifetime.
