(1/n) No I am not going into restaurants to eat. I did have a delightful meal at SALT @bouldercolorado while seated outside. Here is anđź’ˇwe should be doing to assure eating inside is safe. Hire professional HVAC engineers to assess restaurants making sure that they have:
(2/n) 1. 100% outside air ventilation running all the time; 2. if that isn't possible recirculate through MERV 13 or higher filters; 3. if that isn't possible add particulate air purifiers (NOT IONIZERS) and add enough for the size of the space.
(3/n) Make sure that people are > 6 ft apart, not just the tables. People in the restaurant need to be wearing masks while talking and socializing, and take them off to eat and drink (only).
(4/n) Put a certificate in the window that states that this building has been inspected and that it has either options 1, 2, and/or 3 mentioned above. who will pay for this service? good question. Building managers? City mechanical engineering staff could do it...?
