Over the course of the past three and a half months, the province took no steps to address the issues at our border. No one, including Americans, has been denied entry, despite the fact that yesterday alone, the USA recorded over 50,000 Covid-19 cases.

There is a lot of anxiety about letting these visitors in unchecked. While restaurants were taking names and numbers of patrons, the government wouldn't even do that when cars were entering from a different country where COVID-19 is rampant.

Similarly, our government is allowing these travellers in when just last week, the Premier suggested that committees of MLAs can’t go back to work because it would pose a risk to the health of Nova Scotians.

The fact that Stephen McNeil is only now exploring how to track cars coming in from outside the province speaks to his lack of a plan. We cannot let our hard work be wasted. Every decision should be carefully considered, not makeshift in response to social media pressures.
