I think more nurses should run for local government positions bc there's no way we wouldn't be great at it. Just off the top of my head...
Advocating is second nature to us, we're used to juggling resources and coming up with hyper efficient ways to get things done, we stay calm (mostly) and professional (mostly) even in the worst and most stressful circumstances, we work as a team and in interdisciplinary teams,
we're good listeners and communicators, no one has more exposure to the struggles of people (financial, legal, systemic, family, emotional, mental, HUMAN, etc etc etc) than we do,
(well, except maybe for therapists and social workers and community advocates/organizers and the like)
We get called mean things and have shit thrown at us a lot so I doubt we'd be taking any crazy shit happening in the comments super personally, and on and on
ESPECIALLY case managers. No one knows their way around complex systems like case managers. I am in awe every day
Case managers for president đź“Ł
It goes without saying that this thread is about the good nurses and not the pieces of ignorant racist homophobic transphobic etc shit that exist on every unit
