Short thread on Mercury in the Mahabharata war.
3067BCE is the only one which fulfils stringent criteria and doesn’t change the words of critical edition!

conditions: stringent, but all satisfied exactly (not in 5561BCE)

Check the actual word with screenshots from the text about “Tiryak or unusual movt of a graha”
It does not say Somasya putra or Mercury BUT instead Yamasya putra or comet: 2P Encke 3067BCE at Western horizon (Note Mercury is there but Mercury is mostly there in that horizon)

So anybody taking Somasya putra is wrong! It’s saying clearly Yamasya putra instead + consequences ie glowing meteor shower and ulka paat is clearly described in the next verses!
So it can only be a comet!
We show exact 2P Encke which because of movement would seem as if rising!

By the way, please note Mercury in 3067BCE on the horizon in that western sky and bright and observed! Venus also there!
We corroborate all the verses and keep to sanctity of text!
Plus retro Mercury just before war!
