After 6 incredible years @PropellerHealth, today it is with very mixed emotions that I am saying goodbye. Propeller has been, by far, the best career experience of my life. I am proud of the team and all that we accomplished. Below is a thread with some great memories. (1/23)
I cannot stress enough how welcoming the company was, especially @dvansickle and @gregtracy, to this newcomer from San Francisco. I felt like I had been there from the beginning and was instantly part of the tribe. (6/23)
Over the years we had our ups and downs. Like all, we had some hard financings, many pitches (so many pitches), customers won, and a few lost. We grew an amazing team and got to witness (and help drive) the growth of #DigitalHealth from the front row. (9/23)
And we learned a ton in the process. It is fun (but very challenging) being first. No better place for a person who likes living on the steep part of the learning curve. (11/23) https://www.slideshare.net/cwhogg/overcoming-barriers-to-scale-in-digital-therapeutics
One of the programs I am most proud of was Air Louisville, where we worked with the City to improve the lives of all patients in the city with asthma. We helped prove that digital data can be useful to the public health. (12/23) https://www.healthaffairs.org/doi/abs/10.1377/hlthaff.2017.1315
….And signed a deal with Aptar to make the first inhaler with sensors integrated directly into them (16/23) http://www.fiercemedicaldevices.com/story/propeller-partners-aptar-hopes-winning-race-first-integrated-smart-inhaler/2016-02-25
Mostly I am proud that we got to help over 100k patients with asthma and COPD, and that we did it with credibility. I hope one legacy of Propeller is in demonstrating the value of testing rigorously and publishing often. (19/23) https://www.propellerhealth.com/clinical-research/
I feel very proud of what we all accomplished. I learned so much, and feel like I was able to contribute to an amazing cause. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to help with the mission, and to help move #DigitalHealth forward with our contributions. (21/23)
But through it all it was the people that made the journey excellent. I will be forever grateful to @dvansickle, @GregTracy, @dchubanks, @Maidenberg, @GKurtzman, Joe, Wendy, Jesse, Sal, @mqbarrett, Jen and so many others. Best team ever. (22/23)
As for me, I am taking a bit of time off to re-charge the batteries and spend time with family (including our newest member below), and then will figure out what is next. But #DigitalHealth and entrepreneurship are addictive, so I will be back in the arena soon enough. (23/23)
