When @CAgovernor calls for the Church to cease singing (the second most repeated command in Scripture) in worship services, is the government overstepping into determining what is acceptable Biblical practice? Hear me out...
Col 3:16-17 clearly says that worship involves teaching and admonishing each other through our singing. Furthermore, Eph 5:19 says we should be "addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart"
A distinct purpose of singing is to solidify the truth of Scripture into every heart (from 1 to 92), and strengthen the body by hearing others make those same declarations. Singing together encourages steadfastness and causes the heart to rejoice (btw, the most repeated command)
Asking us to stay home was asking us to changed location and medium. However, asking us to fundamentally change the content of our worship, sounds more like a step in a scary direction
