It was in 2011 during my teens,a fanatic of Science especially Space when I was trying to learn about Islamic faith & practice after gotten hit by western materialism, some cultural norms & certain ques I had on Islam.I wanted to do our own research & so I set on with one of my 2/
friends to study basics. He left it half way but somehow Allah instilled a passion of Islamic knowledge in me & I kept pursuing despite college & other issues. While learning basics,I try to be as religious I'd but that took me on narrow minded path like being more judgemental 3/
So while studying in college, I started with Arabic & more crucial subjects like Theology{Kalaam} along the way made many friends abroad, more knowledgeable than me with whom I used to discuss a lot.Later I began to seek answers for the most fundamental ques like why do we need 4/
Religion in life? For that, I picked up on the subject of Philosophy[Falsafa] & Gnosticism[Irfan]. Soon after, I also started studying other religions especially on their concept of God be it Hinduism, Christianity, Judaism & other man-made ideologies. In every religion I find 5/
a flawed concept of God. For ex - polytheism in Hinduism which defy the Essence of God & turned Him into a contingent being.
In Christianity, the concept of Trinity was irreconcilable with the Pure Existence of God. It'd be noted that not all Christians follow Trinity like my 6/

friend @SitaraMThomas dont. But leaving it, many of theological beliefs are similar to Islam.
Judaism is kinda more similar & close to Islam. However they've a flawed concept of Prophethood.
While I was studying philosophy, I also look into western ideologies like Liberalism & 7/

Other such ideologies. At that time, the modernist form of Islam seemed more appealing but when I began my studies in Fiqh as well understanding Qur'an in depth, I found only the traditional way to be more balanced, sincere & pure as opposed to modern approach which became 8/
Batil. It's based on subjective desires. My journey was filled with too much expectations, learning new Islamic Sciences, debating with different religious/non-religious groups, Uni studies, job, answer questions etc. The period of skepticism was tough but rather adopting it 9/
I took upon myself to Islam in depth.
Some ppl couldn't come out of that phase & lost the path. It's so fulfilling as I neither am following Islam blindly without knowledge nor can't be easily deceived by any ideology.
In 2019, I took upon myself to study Fiqh/Jurisprudence. 10/

Fiqh is the most challenging science after philosophy+ theology.
You may know how Islamophobes try to attack Islam by bringing fiqh issues. Before starting Fiqh, one has to study 4-5 Sciences.
Along with Fiqh, began the advanced studies in Political & Social aspects of Islam.11/

In conclusion, it's a roller-coaster ride & I'm still studying/Ijtihad[9 yrs]
In this era of confusion, every Muslim has the responsibility to learn about Deen from primary sources, to learn Philosophy & Logic to counter Atheism & other western ideologies. Else you cant call 12/

yourself unapologetic Muslim.
Islam demands Imaan based on Daleel & Yaqeen(certainty).Like you're reading it so you're #certain it's written word.
But do you believe in Allah with the same level of certainty? How can you practice without knowledge. So take time to learn Deen 13/

Do read this thread & introspect on how much we know about Deen as every concept is so comprehensive in Islam. [END]
