2 weeks ago, Justice Alito wrote the following in his dissent to the Court's landmark decision on LGBTQ workplace rights & protections:

"Our duty is to interpret statutory terms to mean what they
conveyed to reasonable people at the time they were written.”

"Reasonable people."

As we begin the #July4th weekend, a reminder that both "originalism" *and* "textualism" are concepts created by white male jurists, in defense of laws that — in America — were almost exclusively written by white men.
