Honestly the cosplay community treats black women like trash. The amount of dms I’ve gotten from fellow black girls saying they were too scared to cosplay is heartbreaking :( please don’t allow the opinions of others to stop you from doing what you want.

Your race definitely should not stop you. Don’t let your age stop you either I got a lot of qrts saying I’m “too old for dress up” even tho I’m 18 and cosplay doesn’t have an age limit. Technically these marvel actors are cosplaying comic characters so

it’s important to note that 80% of these women were darkskin! A lot of people like my cosplay but bash darkskin women for doing the same. Not only are they affected by racism but they are affected by colorism as well. The cosplay community as a whole has got to work on this!
