My plan with the last pane is to have it show all details and replies, where the first column shows first level tweet replies, and the last column shows replies to any reply you may have selected (defaults to single pane in portrait and phone).
Further tweaks to my new Twitter app. It's starting to look like a good iOS and iPadOS citizen, making use of space where possible.
A clean profile section for my new Twitter app. If anyone has any suggestions or feedback at any point, feel free to shoot it across!
My new Twitter app will have a customisable column on iPad, allowing you to see what you want to see.
Designing with different device sizes in mind from the beginning allows for more thoughtful interactions. Notice how the sidebar changes to a tab bar in compact mode and phone sizes, and the navigation items within are placed where they make the most sense for the use case.
There's a big focus on context menus and pull down menus across my new Twitter app. They make content accessible, whilst retaining visual cues for what object the actions are being performed on.
Home screen Quick Actions, and search that can be pinned as a persistent column. My new Twitter app is getting there.
My upcoming Twitter app will let you pinch the screen anywhere in the app to tweet a screenshot.
Keyboard shortcuts for my new Twitter app are being worked on. More will be added, but this should give an indication of what's to come.
The great thing about a UIToolBar attached to the keyboard is that no extra work has to be done to support different keyboard layouts.
Real data, retweets, images, and infinite scrolling. My new Twitter app’s starting to look real now.
My upcoming Twitter app is starting to look great with real content and proper usage of screen real-estate on the iPad.
Here’s the custom media viewer I’ve built for viewing images, which expands to and from the timeline image, and also lets you tap to see retweets/likes/tweet text.
Not only will you be able to share tweet content and links with my new Twitter app, you'll also be able to share the tweet as an image.
I've now got collapsible sidebar sections sorted for my upcoming Twitter app (follow @AviaryTheApp to be kept up to date).
All images in my new Twitter app now have context menus for quick actions (follow @AviaryTheApp to be kept up to date).
Recreated the way profiles look in my new Twitter app. They're now much cleaner and easier on the eyes (follow @AviaryTheApp to be kept up to date).
The ability to send basic text-based tweets in @AviaryTheApp is now functional.
Tweet replies and trending tweets will make an appearance in a future beta of @AviaryTheApp.
Quote tweets will make an appearance in a future beta of @AviaryTheApp. The quote blocks are fixed size content so as not to take up too much space on your timeline, but the contents within are scrollable.
I've recreated the way quote tweets look (scrolling within a scroll view felt odd as per my previous tweet) and added video viewing. @AviaryTheApp's starting to come together nicely.
The more new features I tick off adding to my upcoming Twitter app @AviaryTheApp, the more things I end up adding to my list or remembering. Even the 5/6 weeks I’ve set myself to finish this is looking like it won’t be enough. But pushing for it nonetheless.

Alt app icons, profile actions, parent replies in details, and more. @AviaryTheApp’s coming together quite nicely.
Owned/subscribed/membership lists, profile media galleries, ASCII text faces in the tweet composer, and more. @AviaryTheApp is getting more fleshed out for when it takes flight this Fall.
Tweaking timelines and context menus in my new Twitter app @AviaryTheApp, and it looks great if I may say so myself.
Adding filters to my upcoming Twitter app @AviaryTheApp, and I'm taking a slightly different approach. Filtered content will be stated as such on the timeline, and the ability to view the tweet if you wish to will still remain. This is akin to content warning filters on Mastodon.
I've taken filters in @AviaryTheApp a step further. You'll also be able to filter tweets that match likes/retweets thresholds, amongst other criteria.
It's finally here. The beta for my new iOS Twitter app @AviaryTheApp is now open for anyone on the iOS 14 beta to test out! It's planning to launch this Fall alongside iOS 14, and will be available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

A future beta of @AviaryTheApp will allow you to use context menus (or settings options) to change the fourth tab on iPhone to one that makes sense to you.
